Small Town Big Oil Book Event - How Three Women Saved the NH Seacoast

  • South Church 292 State Street Portsmouth, NH, 03801 United States (map)

The true story of how a few local citizens joined together to take on Aristotle Onassis, William Loeb (of the Manchester Union Leader) and Governor Meldrim Thomson. Their actions put an end to efforts to build the world's largest oil refinery on Great Bay and serve as an example of what we can accomplish in NH by coming and working together.

Join us and hear from one of the three remarkable women who lead that fight: Dudley Dudley, who at the time was a state representative and became the first woman to serve on the NH Executive Council.
